If you need to measure wind speed and wind direction to help determine whether your site is a good candidate to harvest wind power, or for any other reason, then Greenthinking can provide a wind analysis.  The assessment consists of unattended data collection using a calibrated anemometer on a 12m mast.

The wind assessment is usually carried out over 3, 6 or 12 months and you would be provided with a comprehensive report showing (amongst other detail):

    -  Recorded wind distribution

    -  Recorded wind mean speed

   -  Power potential

   -  Measured power output

   -  Predicted annual turbine output

   -  Average wind speed by direction

   -  Weekly output graphs

The capital outlay of a Wind Turbine is not small change for most people and therefore the potential return should be investigated to ensure that a wind turbine makes good economics for you. If there is any doubt whether your Annual Mean Wind Speed (AMWS) is high enough to justify purchasing a wind turbine then a wind analysis is recommended. The results of the wind assessment can then be related to the output performance curve of the wind turbine in which you are interested.
