Environmental Audit Training

Greenthinking can provide audit training for staff and students. Such training is carried out by an affiliate of the Institute of Environmental Management (IEMA) with over 15 years experience in a management capacity in environmental management organisations.

Whether auditing skills are required for compliance to an environmental management standard (e.g. ISO14001) or for a specific area of environmental management (e.g. Energy Audits or Environmental Management Audits) then Greenthinking can provide training to your specific requirements.

Training courses can be run in-house and tailor made to your own requirements. By acquiring audit skills you can save the cost of procuring external auditors and you will have more control over audit frequency. Let’s face it, you also know your business more than anyone else and our therefore in a better position to comment on it!

Environmental Management System Auditing

Once an organisation has implemented an Environmental Management System (EMS) there is a continuing requirement to ensure and demonstrate that it continually meets the needs of the business and the requirements of the relevant standard. Internal environmental auditing is an effective demonstration of an organisation's commitment to ensuring that its EMS continues to serve those needs and acts as a driver for continual improvement.

Specific Environmental Audits

Specific audits such as Energy Audits are designed to provide a business or educational establishment with an insight into its performance in a particular area. Examples are Energy Audits and Waste Management Audits.

Energy is an expensive but controllable cost and usually there is considerable scope for reducing energy consumption and therefore costs. An Energy Audit helps you to:

-  Assess what is happening ‘on the ground’

-  Identify where energy is being wasted

-  Identify where savings can be made

-  Identify maintenance issues that require addressing
